What grades does iComprehend Academy serve?
iComprehend Academy currently serves students in grades Kindergarten-12.
How much does it cost to attend iComprehend Academy?
iComprehend Academy, is an online school for eligible students. We are private school. Students are provided with all instructional materials for the program. Students and families will be responsible for providing materials for some courses, which may require additional supplies or materials for labs, art supplies, or other classes.

Who is eligible to attend iComprehend Academy?
Students who have successfully completed and submitted their Grade 8 Academic Reports (report cards or transcripts), are considered for enrollment into Grade 9. Likewise, students applying for Grade 10-12, must submit their previous year’s Academic Report for consideration of enrollment into the next grade.
Students can enroll in Grades K-8 with a parent support statement or a report card showing completion of the previous grade level. We welcome previous homeschool students.
Students who want to improve their grades or recover credits are welcome to enroll into our Summer School for grades K-8.
Does iComprehend Academy serve students with exceptional needs?
We serve students with a variety of academic needs and preferences. Our mission at iComprehend Academy includes a personalized approach to learning that helps learners meet their individual goals. Unfortunately, iComprehend Academy is unable to provide services or assistance to the Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
Will attending iComprehend Academy be the same as homeschooling?
iComprehend Academy is not a homeschool program. Our learners receive a virtual education in the comfort of their own homes through the instruction of certified teachers.

What are the traits of a successful student?
Successful students are self-motivated, independent students who work daily in their courses and have an engaged parent/guardian.
What subjects does iCA offer?
iCA offers a full curriculum for students in grades K – 12. Courses cover all core areas, including English language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and elective course offerings in a variety of student interest areas.
How much daily time does an iCA student spend online?
Core and elective high school courses typically require 60 minutes a day. A full-time student will spend about 6 hours a day from a combination of online and offline academic work.
Do I need to use my personal computer to attend iCA?
Yes, you need to have your own device.
Where is the school calendar?
Please refer to the iCA Handbook for our school calendar.
We do not have a term calendar. Students set their own schedules, as long as the minimum of 180 school days per year are honored.
Do you have tutoring?
Our online teachers are available to registered students for online sessions, per appointment.
When are iComprehend Academy students able to access their school work?
Students will have access to the iComprehend Academy learning management system at any time of the day for seven days a week, throughout the academic year.
How do iComprehend Academy students access their teachers if they need help?
Students can access teachers in a variety of ways: email, web conferencing tools, etc. Students will have the ability to meet with teachers on one-on-one sessions based on their individual academic needs and levels of content mastery.
Curriculum
Do iComprehend Academy students have to complete all lessons within the course?
Students are required to complete all of the requirements communicated by their teachers. All work must be submitted within the Learning Management System.
Will iComprehend Academy students have physical education classes?
Earning credit in Physical Education (PE) is one of the requirements to meet eligibility for graduation and is, therefore, offered to ensure our students meet all requirements of their graduation plan. iCA students in PE courses maintain an activity log to demonstrate they have met the required activity time per day. The course content includes instruction on individual and group activities.
Will I need to download any software?
Some courses do require some free software downloads. Students are provided with instructions at the beginning of the course.
Can I have a time extension to complete my courses?
Yes, application for course extension can be made. There is a fee associated with extending course time.

Testing
Do iComprehend Academy students have to participate in state testing?
No, iCA is an independent online school. College bound students should prepare for PSAT/NMSQT, SAT or ACT testing.
Graduation
Will we have graduation?
iCA does not have an annual in-person graduation ceremony as our students are able to graduate at different times of the year. iCA will have a virtual graduation ceremony each May for students who graduate in the preceding 12 months.
Is the diploma a high school diploma or a GED diploma?
Our graduates receive a traditional U.S. College Preparatory Diploma.
We do not offer a GED.
Will the diploma be recognized by colleges?
Yes, the diploma is widely recognized and accepted for application at universities.
